When I was still working as an instructor in one of the language schools in Cebu, I didn’t really care much of my Social Security System (SSS) contributions.  Each time I received my pay slip during pay days, I just checked how much was being deducted.  Before I quit in 2012, I took a salary loan to make sure my contributions were really paid and updated.  I was happy to have my loan approved.  It  means that my company has been faithfully reporting to SSS.

After passing the final interview, usually an applicant will be given a probationary contract.  During this period, the employee must give his best.  If the employer is satisfied with his performance,  he will be given a regular employment contract.  Before the probationary contract ends, most employees are nervous.  Some of them are worried whether their contract will be extended or not.
