Have you heard of costume café restaurant where the service crews are dressed like anime characters?  This concept is very popular in Akihabara and Harajuku, Japan where the customers are served like VIPS. 

Last August 2014, a restaurant like this was opened, the Cos Cafe Cebu which is located on the second floor of JY Square, Salinas Drive, Lahug, Cebu City. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I asked the owner why he established this kind of restaurant.  He said that it’s actually the idea of his Japanese friend who is an “Otaku”, a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, commonly the anime and manga fandom.  The restaurant is getting a popularity among the Japanese poplution in Cebu and Filipinos who are cosplayers. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The restaurant also became a hit to Filipinos specially those who are a fan of cosplay. Every month, it organizes an event where the customers can wear their favorite costumes. 

However, this place is not only good for cosplayers but also for group of friends, university students, family and their children.
